The 400G/1T dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) multi-application network device prototype, which is the first of its kind in the whole world, was launched by ZTE at the 16th WDM & Next Generation Optical Networking Forum in Monaco.
The following are some of the applications of the 400G/1T DWDM prototype based on requirements of a carrier:
- The 400G/1T DWDM prototype is used in long-haul applications as it is a Nyquist WDM solution.
- High bandwidth efficiency is provided by the 400G/1T DWDM in an equal manner and this bandwidth efficiency is used in a wide range of network applications.
- Local and metro applications with highest bandwidth utilization rate in an industry utilize the 400G/1T DWDM that is a 16 quadrature amplitude modulation solution.
- The 400G/1T DWDM is used in ultra-long-haul applications as it comprises a multi-subcarrier orthogonal frequency division multiplexing 400G/1T solution.
The regular PM-QPSK code pattern adjustment and coherent detection are supported by the 100G DWDM/ optical transport network (OTN) system. The OTN system has the strongest 100G transport capability in the industry and it utilizes a sophisticated soft decision forward error correction technology.
Chen Yufei, General Manager of the ZTE Bearer Network Product Line, stated that ZTE is ready to deploy products, services and solutions for the large-scale commercial and global rollout of ultra-100G and 100G.
