A seminar was presented by PPG Industries at the China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair (SIOF 2012). The seminar focused on optical materials and technologies.

Over 100 participants, representing the manufacturers of spectacle lens and frame, exchanged their ideas on new optical materials and technologies, innovative concepts for product expansion and optical industry trends.
According to PPG’s Global director of sales and marketing of optical materials, John Liebenguth, the seminar has provided a platform to share ideas and data among industry experts and optical educators in China and has given an opportunity to display PPG's lens, optical material and coating technologies to the China market.
The company exhibited the exclusive sun lens technologies and optical material like NXT sun lenses and TRIVEX material at the seminar, through discussions and presentations.
PPG’s Director of optical materials business development, Vivian Waters stated that China is one of the world’s most potential eyewear markets. He added that this seminar provides a forum to local and global optical manufacturers to discover the company’s optical innovations and technologies. PPG attempts to help manufacturers by enlightening industry partners and advancing high-quality, innovative products that fulfill the demands of consumers.
At the fair, the attendees gained knowledge about NXT sun lenses and Trivex material by visiting the booths of Baodao Optical, Guangzhou ILT Optical, Hoya, Megakingdom Technology and Universe Optical.
