Larson Electronics Introduces Magnalight LED Blasting Light

Larson Electronics has announced the launch of the Magnalight BL40-LED blasting light, which combines robust construction and state-of-the-art LED technology, thereby providing high-power blasting light, which can withstand the extreme conditions found in water, media and sand blasting operations.

Magnalight BL40-LED blasting light

The 120W blasting light is available in flood and spot beam configurations, is IP68 rated and is up to 3m water proof. It is corrosion resistant and operates between 9 and 46V. The LED light features 40, Edixeon LED Emitters of 3W each which produce light of 7,200 lumens intensity. It is possible to fix the device to any surface comprising of steel or iron with the help of a magnetic mounting system. The device features an optional inbuilt transformer, which helps it to operate at a 120 to 277V AC current.

The device produces an intense light beam that cuts through the dusty conditions that normally prevail in blasting rooms. The BL40-LED blasting light features three grip magnetic mounts, weighing 100 pound each, thereby enabling the users to attach the light to ceilings, walls, equipment and any surface that can attach a magnet to it. The device has an adjustable trunnion to enable vertical movement at 360°. The LED light has a polycarbonate lens and is made of aluminium and stainless steel, which makes it highly resistant to the vibrations. There is a possibility of lens receiving abrasions during the blasting procedures, which can be prevented using replaceable adhesive Mylar lens covers.

The device can be connected to any vehicle or electrical unit directly, as it can operate at 9 to 42V DC. The unit also features a 50 ft, SOOW cord which allows the light and power source to be placed well apart. The device is capable of working for a long period without the need for replacing the lamp, as the LED emitters in it have a life time of 50,000 hours. The dust and water proof LEDs can be easily washed with water jets without damaging the equipment.
