Miyachi Unitek to Exhibit Laser Marking Systems sat UDI Conference

Developer of laser processing solutions, Miyachi will display its laser marking systems at the UDI Expo to be held on 1 and 2 December in Baltimore, USA. The UDI conference will exhibit technologies for medical unit manufacturers who look to comply with the FDA UDI rule.

The FDA UDI rule requires medical instruments to have a unique identifier. The laser marking solutions of Miyachi are suitable for adding the identification marks to various medical devices.

Miyachi Unitek provides a comprehensive family of marking lasers that includes CO2, UV, green, Nd:YVO4, and Yb:fiber. The marking lasers are ideal for most applications that require direct machining or marking. Ideal materials include ceramics, plastics, and metals, in addition to organics such as paper and wood. The company’s technology offers a efficient solution to the UDI needs because the laser markings are corrosion resistant, legible, and permanent.

Miyachi Unitek’s Northeast Regional Manager, John Beaupre stated that the UDI Conference would be a huge opportunity for the company to exhibit the medical device marking potentials. He added that the company’s proficiency in the medical equipment industry enables it to help manufacturers address the UDI marking capabilities.
