Canon Launches REALiS WUX4000 LCoS Projector

Canon has introduced a new liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) projector that is ideal for venues such as auditoriums and lecture halls. The REALiS WUX4000 projector features a WUXGA resolution, and is anticipated to be shipped in March 2011.

WUX4000 LCoS Projector

The WUX4000 projector delivers a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It utilizes the company’s latest LCoS optical engine that is enhanced with the Aspectual Illumination System (AISYS), to offer 4000 lm brightness and 1000:1 contrast ratio. The projector also uses an image correction technology and a 3D look-up table to improve the precision of color reproduction. Canon stated that the 4G AISYS generates 20% more brightness for every lamp watt, at given size of the panel.

The projector can be connected to the network by using an RJ-45 jack. It has an integrated 5 W speaker, and has color controls for temperature, six-axis color adjustment, RGB offset, RGB gain, memory color correction, and balance. The AV connectivity, offered by the projector, includes one stereo minijack output, two stereo minijack inputs, analog RGB video ports, DVI-D, and HDMI 1.3.

Three optional lenses are available with the projector, namely, the RS-IL03WF, RS-IL02LZ, and RS-IL01ST. All the lenses support motorized lens shift and function on screens ranging from 40” to 300”.
