New UV-LED Inkjet Printer-Cutter from Roland

Roland DGA has released a new UV-LED inkjet printer/cutter, called the 54” VersaUV LEC-540 that is based on the VersaUV technology. The printer/cutter cuts the outline of the layers of the base to a maximum of 1 mm thickness and prints white, clear and CMYK inks with inimitable special- effects and appearance.

The LEC-540 delivers a quicker performance than its predecessors the 30” LEC-300A and the 30” LEC-330 and provides higher flexibility for the applications extending to textures, including point of purchase, displays, large-format window graphics, membrane panels, short-run labels and packaging prototypes.

The LEC-540 UV-LED inkjet cutter/printer prints on sturdy and flexible materials such as paper boards, polycarbonates, plastic, leather, PET, polyester film, and synthetic paper. The printer includes an artistic print mode with 1440 x 1440 dpi perfects the quality of the images.

The LEC-540 is available in three versions namely the CMYK + Clear + Clear, CMYK + Clear + Clear, and CMYK + White + Clear configuration. The printing solution includes an automated white ink circulation system that offers uninterrupted printing, reduces waste, and avoids ink pigments from settling. Clear ink can be coated into both glass and matte finish in 72 off the shelf patterns and it is Roland Eco Label and Energy Star certified.
