Manufacturer of fiber and CO2 laser systems, Epilog Laser, has received a U.S. patent for its Waveguide laser tubes. The Waveguide laser tubes have been installed in the Legend Elite and the Zing Starter series of CO2 laser devices. The patented laser tube design delivers high-quality cutting and engraving results.
The Waveguide technology generates high beam quality that allows users to attain intricate engravings and accurate cuts. A number of issues including slow switching rates, inconsistent power stability and oval-shaped beams affect the laser beam’s quality, which in turn affects the quality of the cutting and engraving results.
Epilog Laser’s Sales and Marketing Director, Mike Dean stated that the laser tube is the key component of a laser system, and the company’s proprietary Waveguide technology offers a smaller bore, faster switching rates, optimized plasma production and higher CO2 gas pressure. He added that the wave technology enables the laser systems to generate high-resolution images using standard and cost-effective lens options.
