Scientifica Announces Launch of X-Cite Exact

Scientifica is pleased to announce the launch of X-Cite Exact, X-Cite Radiometer fluorescence illumination light source from EXFO.

These new additions address the illumination stability and repeatability requirements of advanced fluorescence applications, and were developed by working closely with researchers using quantitative and live cell imaging techniques.

The X-Cite® exacte employs a DC-powered mercury lamp coupled with patented Closed-Loop Feedback technology to provide ultra-stable illumination. With the X-Cite® Radiometer, light output can also be calibrated in absolute power units (watts), ensuring truly repeatable experiments. With the X-Cite® exacte’s high speed internal shutter, intensity adjustment in 1% increments, computer programmability, and a graphical user interface that records real-time stability data, a new standard for fluorescence illuminators has been set.

The X-Cite® exacte also has all of the convenient features enjoyed by the thousands of researchers currently using the X-Cite® 120 Series illuminators: an easy-to-install Intelli-Lamp® with no alignment required a guaranteed 2000 hour lifetime, a rich broad spectrum, and exceptional illumination uniformity.

While the X-Cite® exacte’s unique DC lamp technology is not interchangeable with the lamp used in X-Cite® 120 series illuminators, all X-Cite® light guides and X-Cite® microscope adapters are suitable for use with the entire X-Cite® family. The X-Cite® Radiometer, which accepts the standard 3mm light guide, can be used with the X-Cite® 120 series to measure light guide and lamp output.

X-Cite® exacte and X-Cite® Radiometer units are now available for Scientifica UK.
