U.S. Navy Places $5.9 Million Order for Energy Focus' Military Intellitube™ LED Retrofit Tubes

Energy Focus, Inc., a leader in LED lighting technologies, today announced that the Company has received a $5.9 million order for the United States Navy. This order is expected to be delivered throughout the first half of 2015.

As with the prior large orders announced on September 11th and October 7th, 2014, this $5.9 million order is entirely for Energy Focus' military Intellitube™ LED retrofit tubes. This industry's only true plug-and-play technology based on proprietary and patented circuit designs allows for direct fit into existing fluorescent sockets with or without the ballast in place. To date, the military Intellitube™ is installed on approximately 165 naval vessels in the U.S. Navy fleet. Upon delivery of this order in the first half of 2015, the U.S. Navy will have converted just over 12% of its fluorescent tubes with Intellitube™.

The proprietary design of the military Intellitube™ is the technological foundation for the additional patents the Company filed recently and announced earlier this month. The new patent-pending technology will provide both direct fit and direct wire functions for the Intellitube™ for the commercial markets. The Company expects to start selling the commercial Intellitube in the first quarter of 2015.
