Utility to Incorporate LED Lighting on Utility Trailers to Improve Driver Safety

Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company has announced that all their dry and refrigerated van trailers will feature 100% LED lighting.

This decision is also being extended to their tridem and tandem axle flatbeds and also includes replacing the license plate light with LED. The flashing LED marker light, developed by Grote Industries is compliant with Federal and California regulations.

Craig Bennett, the senior vice president, sales and marketing at Utility stated that the use of LED lighting ensures improved safety for the driver as it also functions as a side turn signal. An extended service life also ensures lower maintenance costs.

Until now, LED turn signal lights provided only rear illumination in mid-trailer positions. By combining the marker function with the mid-trailer turn indicator along with a lens design allows for forward and backward visibility.

The 100 %  LED lighting will be on exhibit at the Mid-America Trucking Show held between March 31st and April 2nd 2011 in Louisville, Kentucky.
