Hamamatsu’s Quantaurus Series Measures the Properties of Photoluminescent Materials

Hamamatsu Photonics has launched the Quantaurus range of compact instruments meant to assess the properties of photoluminescent materials.

The Quantaurus-Tau can measure fluorescence lifespan at 100 picoseconds, while the Quantaurus-QY can assess the quantum yields easily and quickly when compared to standard measurement methods.

Quantaurus-QY

The Quantaurus range allows for a thorough measurement of photoluminescent materials, which include LED phosphors, fluorescent probes, organic metal complexes, quantum dots and OLED materials. Both models can be used to assess the materials in any given form – powder, thin-film, solid or liquid.

The Quantaurus-Tau is available in two models. The C11367-11 is suitable for measurements from 300 to 800 nm, while the C11367-12 covers spectral ranges between 380 and 1030 nm. The models provide efficient measurement of fluorescence lifetimes ranging between sub-nanoseconds to milliseconds with single photon counting sensitivity.

Easy to operate, the software offers a range of analysis and measurement functions. Comprising of seven LED sources, it brings about a sample excitation between 280 - 630 nm. The Quantaurus-Tau also offers additional features to perform phosphorescence measurements.

The Quantaurus-QY does not need of reference samples and can perform absolute measurements. By choosing excitation wavelengths, it can make several measurements and analyses such as excitation wavelength dependence, photoluminescence quantum yield measurement, photoluminescence excitation spectrum, photoluminescence spectrum and color coordinates.

The Quantaurus-QY is available in two models. The C11347-11 covers spectral ranges between 300 and 950 nm, while the C11347-12 covers between 400 and 1100 nm.
