Fiberguide Introduces Single-Fiber Assemblies for Adverse Environments

Fiberguide Industries has rolled out a new series of single-fiber assemblies that are specifically designed for adverse environments. Fiberguide’s assemblies have been used effectively in numerous industrial and scientific applications, ranging from fluorescence, chromatography, ultraviolet / visible spectroscopy to process monitoring and light measurement.

Single-fiber assemblies

The single-fiber assemblies are available in a wide range of fiber-optic core sizes and come with a selection of protective sheathing to suit customers’ requirements. The assemblies are available in nonmagnetic and chemical-resistant sheathing. For general applications, Fiberguide’s furcation tubing includes a polyvinyl chloride sleeve, which is layered over a polypropylene tube. The furcation tubing does not conduct electricity and shields the fibers with a liquid-tight seal.

Fiberguide provides stainless steel monocoil sheathing for special applications. The monocoil sheathing is resistant to high temperatures, kinking, cutting, crushing and bending and is also compatible with vacuum. Both single-fiber assemblies can be used at ambient temperatures.

The assemblies are available from 50 to 1000 µm. It can also be purchased with FC and ST connectors in lengths of up to 50 m with 0.26 and 0.12 apertures.
