New LED Driver Demo Boards from IXYS

IXYS has released the new demo boards for its LED drivers, the LDS8720/24/26, and LDS8710/11. The demo boards are two-layer assembled and tested boards that are surface mounted. They offer easier probe access points to the inputs and outputs of the LED drivers. This enables faster connection and measurement of electrical waveforms and characteristics, for the users.

The Demo cards comprise a driver featuring LED matrix related to the LEDs driven by a specific driver. The common wire of the LED matrix features a 1-ohm 1% resistor arranged in series, which enables easy measurement of current without interrupting the circuit. The demo cards permit external and internal LED brightness control. These cards are powered by an external voltage source that is connected between the Vin pin and GND, or with three AAA-sized alkaline batteries.

The LDS8720/24/26 LED drivers are suitable for up to 15-inch LCD backlight display applications including NetBooks, GPS, automotive displays, and medical and industrial displays. The LDS8710/11 LED drivers are suitable for up to 7-inch LCD backlight display applications including digital photo frames, E-books, personal navigation systems, portable multimedia devices, and smart phones. Both the LED driver series are ideal to power high bright LEDs for use in battery powered flash lights, streetlights, automotive lights, security lights, and more.
