Sigma Introduces New Optically Stabilized Zoom Lens in the U.S. Market

Manufacturer of cameras and lenses, Sigma Corporation of America, has announced that the new APO 70-200 mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens with FLD lens glass is now available in the U.S. market.

Sigma APO 70-200mm HSM lens

The APO lens is presently available in Canon mounts and will be shortly available in Pentax, Sony, Sigma and Nikon mounts. Currently used with DSLR cameras, the APO lens can also be utilized with APS-C size sensors with an increase of 100-300 mm focal length with majority of cameras.

The APO lens covers focal lengths ranging from 70-200 mm with an aperture of F2.8 across the complete zoom series. The lens incorporates an advanced Optical Stabilization technology that enables photographers to utilize shutter speeds that are four stops slower. The lens retains the compact dimensions of the previous model.

The APO lens provides two different modes of optical stabilization, one for general photography and the other for panning with moving objects. The lens also integrates a Hyper Sonic Motor technology that allows manual and auto-focus capabilities. The lens has a petal-type hood and comes with a hood adapter for APS-C size sensor cameras. The lens also has a Super Multi-Layer Coating to decrease ghosting and flare and three SLD glass elements for  color aberration correction.
