mSilica to Launch MSL316X ICs at Display Week 2010

mSilica will be showcasing the intelligent LED driver ICs at the 48th annual SID International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition, Display Week 2010, which will be held in Washington State Convention Center from May 23 to 28 in Seattle.

The exhibition from May 23 to 25 will feature mSilica incorporating the LED drivers of MSL316X series for televisions and LCD monitors. In a QFN package of 6x6 mm2 area, the LED drives 16 LED strings at internal current sink ratings of 75 mA and nearly 12 LEDs per string. The patented architecture of MSL316X gives a system efficiency of 10% and a dynamic contrast of 10M:1. At the same time, it removes the motion blur in TVs that are backlit directly. MSL316X offers complete monitoring, good ESD performance and a 40% drop in the cost of bill-of-material. With these characteristics, MSL316X has given the efficient and slim direct backlit monitors and TVs.

The Society for Information Display’s incoming president, Munisamy Anandan, has welcomed mSilica to showcase its products at the display week and the intelligent LED driver system is a good enhancement for the large LCD TVs.

The products of mSilica will be showcased on the expo’s main floor in booth #636. mSilica will also be demonstrating solid-state lighting for residential, governmental and commercial applications and the small form factor displays for portable computing and industrial applications.
