Larson Electronics Releases Cart Mounted Explosion Proof 150W Tank LED Light

Leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial grade lighting Larson Electronics has announced the release of an explosion proof LED tank light mounted to a portable wheelbarrow cart. The new EPL-16C-150LED-RT-3EX produces a brilliant flood pattern of light that is ideal for illuminating enclosed areas.

The EPL-16C-150LED-RT-3EX is rated Class 1 & 2 Division 1 & 2 and is a cart mounted explosion proof LED light that provides 10,000 square feet of work area coverage while producing 12,000 lumens of light from 150 watts. This portable LED cart light has a removable light head measuring 16 inches wide by 14 inches tall which allows the unit to fit through standard sized manholes or entry passages commonly found in the petrochemical and marine industries. It comes with a three foot extension pole, allowing operators to raise the height of the light when desired. This removable extension allows the unit to become a compact solution for storage and transporting. The portability combined with the 360 degrees of rotation and 90 degrees of tilt offered by the LED light head provides an effective alternative to often cumbersome explosion proof string lights.

Included with this portable cart is 250 feet of SOOW cord terminated in an explosion proof plug. This unit is multi-voltage capable and is configured to operate on a range from 120 to 277 volts 50/60 Hz. This explosion proof LED light fixture is IP67 rated, dust-proof, and protected against high pressure jets and temporary submersion. The cast aluminum body and LED lamp give this light excellent durability and resistance to vibration and impacts. The housing is specially designed to dissipate heat which increases the efficiency and lifespan of the LEDs and electronics. This lamp is T5 temperature rated and retains 80% of its lumen output after 50,000 hours of use, far longer than incandescent or fluorescent lamps.

“Often simply referred to as a ‘tank light’, this unit is considered universal due to its ability to be passed through any conventional manhole such as those found in petrochemical containers and ship storage tanks,” Rob Bresnahan with Larsonelectronics.com said. “The solid state design, 3’ extension pole, and wheeled base make this light cart ideal for areas where explosive gases, vapors, and dust exist or stand the potential to exist.”
