Consumer Electronics Show Best of Innovations Award Presented to LED World Bulb

Lighting Science Group , a leading LED lighting producer, unveiled its novel, economic World Bulb, an unidirectional 60W equivalent A19 LED bulb which has been chosen as the 2012 International CES Best of Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honoree.

The International CES Innovations Awards of the Consumer Electronics Association identifies its distinguished design and progress in engineering over 32 consumer electronics product aggregation. This product was recognized in the Eco-Design and Sustainable Technologies series and is expected to be released in India in the beginning of 2012 and would subsequently be distributed globally. The CEA's 2012 International CES Best of Innovations honor is awarded based on the overall engineering features associated to technical specifications and materials, the product's intended function and operation, artistic and design qualities, exclusive features and its comparative advancement in the market

Employing 9W of electricity, the World Bulb is designed to leverage the inconsistent power quality in the developing economies of the world. This novel bulb conserves 35% electricity compared to CFLs, and in contrast to fluorescent lights, is free of toxic mercury.

Lighting Science Group creates, constructs, produces and markets LED lighting solutions that are more eco-friendly and energy efficient compared to traditional lighting products, supplying retrofit LED lamps in form factors similar to conventional bulbs or lamps and LED luminaires designed for its wide-spread applications in private and public infrastructure including its internal and external deployment.
