Mindspeed Delivers Crosspoint Switch for Fiberhome’s Optical Transport Network Product Line

Supplier of semiconductor systems for network infrastructure purposes, Mindspeed Technologies proclaimed that its large crosspoint switches have been chosen by Fiberhome Telecommunications Technologies for its advanced optical transport network (OTN) product portfolio.

Mindspeed’s crosspoint switches offer the important interconnect technology and signal-integrity needed in OTN and other networking solutions. The high-density switching functionality of the crosspoint switch allows OTN solutions to control traffic as needed. The switch’s integrated signal-conditioning capability allows multi-gigabit broadcast via the networking system.

According to Yang Ming, who works as Vice General Manager of optical networks products division at Fiberhome, the ability of Mindspeed’s crosspoint switch to tackle Fiberhome’s switching and signal-integrity needs in highly integrated equipment is the reason behind their selection. The switch allows Fiberhome’s OTN products to offer Tbps-class switching and intelligent optical/electronic management functionalities as well as superior flexibility.
