Bystronic has launched an ultra-power fiber laser cutting equipment called the BySprint Fiber 3015. The laser machine is developed using the BySprint Pro platform and is based on the concept ByVention Fiber laser equipment that was launched by the company three years before at Laser World of Photonics in Munich.
The BySprint Fiber 3015 is the Bystronic¡¦s first model of a laser cutting device that utilizes fiber-laser technology. It features a 2 kW 'Fiber 2000' fiber laser, enabling the equipment to slice materials, including aluminum, steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous metals such as brass and copper with high accuracy and process durability. The laser source can cut thin metal sheets with a thickness range of up to 160" and can process sheet materials with a thickness range of up to 500".
In the BySprint Fiber 3015, the laser beam is transmitted to the cutting head via a passive fiber, opposite to the process employed in carbon dioxide lasers, which utilize the deflection mirror systems. The process reduces maintenance and operating expenditures as well as energy consumption because of the utilizing the Fiber 2000 laser source. The laser system offers high cutting speeds and flexibility. The focal length of the cutting head is 150 mm, making the system to slice both thick and thin materials efficiently.
