TLC Vision to Open New Laser Eye Center in San Diego

TLC Vision has proclaimed that it intends to establish a new TLC Laser Eye Center in San Diego. Refractive surgery experts, David J. Tanzer and David J. Schanzlin, will work for the San Diego refractive surgery facility.

The laser eye center will be situated at the new Pacific Medical Plaza, 4910 Directors Place. The location can be accessed easily.

The Chief Executive Officer at TLC Vision, Jim Tiffany stated that the San Diego facility will be equipped with the latest refractive technologies. The facility will feature two surgeons, with more than 46 years of knowledge in refractive surgery, and a well-trained support team, he added.

Dr. Tanzer was working in the US Navy for more than two decades and had held several designations including Wing surgeon at the Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar and the Director of the US Navy Refractive Surgery Program. He has completed more than 16,000 refractive surgeries.

Dr. Schanzlin is currently working at the UC San Diego Shiley Eye Center as a Director of Keratorefractive Surgery. He has done more than 20,000 refractive surgeries and has contributed in developing several refractive technologies such as the Femtosecond technology utilized for bladeless LASIK flap formation, and the Intacs and the excimer laser utilized in LASIK eye procedure.
