The Telehealth Technology Assessment Center (TTAC) conducted an analysis of patient examination cameras utilized in telemedicine. According to the review, the TotalExam camera from GlobalMedia, manufacturer of telemedicine solutions, won the top scores on ease of operation, mechanics and reliability.
The TTAC summary discuses that the TotalExam camera offers ease of operation, configuration and connection in a single-purpose design. The 5.5’’ TotalExam camera is suitable for patient examination and weighs 229 grams. It integrates electronic Skin Tone Balance, freeze-frame capture and dual-focus in a single device for various medical applications. The camera’s onboard LED light carousel enables the selection of three brightness settings for clinicians.
The camera comes with a tongue depressor adaptor for typical tongue depressors snaps on the camera for intraoral images. It includes a derm hood with disposable touch collars for obtaining accurate close-ups of eyes and skin.
