US Optical, Pixel Optics Collaborate to Produce Electronic Focusing Eyeglasses

US Optical has inked a deal with Pixel Optics to produce emPower!, the first electronic focusing eyeglasses in the world. Pixel Optics has patented the emPower!.

The emPower! can offer vision correction to all sight ranges including far, in between and near. It provides vision correction to Presbyopia affected persons whose ability to see nearby objects gradually decline with age.

The electronic focusing eyeglass can operate in three modes such as manual on, manual off and automatic. It offers accurate focusing functionality equal to the speed of an eye. The eyeglass turns on or off the reading power electronically and provides an electronic invisible close to the reading zone whenever needed.

Customers can get the emPower! eyeglasses via the US Optical stores by April 2011. Intelligent Eyewear, a groundbreaking product in the ophthalmology market, has also been produced with the electronic focusing eyeglasses.
