NCR Demonstrates Bi-Optic Scanner with Laser and Imaging Technology at NRF’s BIG Show

NCR has demonstrated a new bi-optic scanner at the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) BIG Show that was held in New York.

The NCR RealPOS Bi-Optic Scanner integrates laser and imaging technology and offers a one interaction point to scan 2D bar codes and standard bar codes on mobile instruments and product labels. This technology enables retailers to make the checkout process easy and simple with reduced maintenance and capital expenditure costs.

The NCR RealPOS Bi-Optic Scanner is a component of the NCR c-tailing solutions, which are a group of services and technology that allow retailers to provide enhanced personalization to consumers. The retailing solutions allow retailers to attract consumers and reduce operational costs. The new imaging feature enables retailers to conveniently deploy through a swift retrofit to existing NCR RealPOS Bi-Optic Scanners.

NCR’s VP of Retail Marketing, Rick Chavie stated that the innovations offered by the hybrid scanner help retailers to break silos between digital and physical channels.
