Celestron to Exhibit Optical and GPS-Enabled Solutions at 2011 CES

Celestron, a firm specializing in microscopes, binoculars and telescopes, will unveil new GPS-enabled and optical solutions at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

The products lined up for launch include the SkyWatcher AllView, reTrace, golf GPS device CoursePro and SkyProdigy.

The reTrace Deluxe and the reTrace Lite GPS devices aid joggers, outdoor and sports enthusiasts, campers and travelers not to get lost. The reTrace GPS device is a personal locator that includes a digital compass to determine the distances to waypoints that users fix to find their way back to a particular location. In addition, it operates in locations where coverage to a GPS signal is available. The reTrace includes a real time display, barometer and an altimeter.

The SkyWatcher AllView computerized mount streamlines the process of capturing panoramic videos and photos. It is suitable for capturing astronomical images. Producing panoramic images is made even easier more by integrating the pointing accuracy of a product meant for astronomy applications with a camera shutter control function.
