Developer of energy-efficient lighting technology, Vu1 has planned to ship the R30 Electron Stimulated Luminescence (ESL) reflector light bulbs as part of the initial order. A northwest electrical distributor had placed the order for the reflector lights. The order reinforces the commercialization of Vu1’s lighting technology.
The R30 ESL bulb acts as replacement for the 65 W incandescent flood light bulbs and does not contain mercury, unlike CFLs. To create light, Vu1’s ESL Lighting Technology utilizes accelerated electrons to activate the phosphor. This technique makes the bulb to offer energy efficiency, natural light quality and a long operating life of 10,000 h.
Vu1’s CEO and President, Philip Styles stated that the company is pleased to conclude the year on a positive note with the shipment of the R30 ESL reflector bulbs. He added that the year 2011 looks promising for the company with the popularity of the ESL bulb.
