Laser Components, a developer and distributor of laser devices, has rolled out a new low-cost laser unit. The optics, drive electronics, and laser diode of the LC-LMD-650-12 laser module is housed inside a single package.
Laser diode Module
The 650 nm LC-LMD-650-12 laser diode module is available in either 5 mW or 1 mW choice. The 10.5 mm diameter unit is highly affordable, and is compact in size. The module provides the added benefit of accurate coaxial alignment, in which the output ray is aligned to the device’s center line.
The laser module, in addition to displaying coaxial precision of less than 0.1 degree, has an auto power control IC enclosed in the unit. It is operated using a 3 V power supply, and is ideal for applications such as portable sensing instrumentation, laser game hardware, and industrial alignment.
