Veeco to Supply MOCVD Systems for Silan’s High-Volume LED Production

LED manufacturer in China, Hangzhou Silan Azure has selected Veeco Instruments’ TurboDisc K465i Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) tools to expand its LED production line. Veeco produces equipment that is used for developing LEDs, hard disk drives, solar panels and other products. The MOCVD systems will be deployed at Silan’s Hangzhou facility for producing HB-LEDs.

Silan Azure’s President, Zhongyong Jiang stated that the company selected the K465i MOCVD systems due to their efficient performance. Jiang added that Veeco’s devices will be ideal for high volume LED production. The company plans to increase the production line with the help of Veeco, Jiang said.

Head of MOCVD operations at Veeco and Executive VP, Compound Semiconductor, Bill Miller said that the company is happy to provide the MOCVD systems for Silan Azure. He added that the Chinese market will regulate important developments in the LED sector, and Vecco will benefit from such developments.
