Z Upgrades Software to Simplify Usage of ZScanner

Z has announced a new software upgrade to facilitate simpler usage of the ZScanner 3D laser scanners. The ZScan 5.0 software allows users to select any kind of scanning resolution without any limit on the part size. This allows convenient scanning of large-sized objects.

The software enables raw data produced by various scans to be conveniently combined. This feature is useful when the computer limitations curb the file size or when more than one scanner is utilized on one object. The software also automatically fills holes. This aspect judges the texture, which was originally scanned and applies that texture on the filled hole, providing users with precise .stl files.

The ZScan software, incorporated with every ZScanner, generates a .stl file automatically from the scan data for output to a 3D printer or import to a 3D CAD software. The software will be available from October 20 for Z customers at no extra cost.

Z’s VP of Marketing, Kevin Lach commented that the ZScan software accelerates and simplifies scanning to make users productive as they secure data to convert to CAD models. He added that the software enables streamlined development of new products.
