New Passport and ID Card Scanner from Document Capture

Developer of imaging technologies, Document Capture Technologies has announced its new DocketPORT 540 passport and ID card scanner. The DocketPORT 540 is suitable for event registration, medical, security, commercial, and retail applications. In addition, the model 540 is useful in ID card recording, hotel check-in, passport logging, and other applications.

The DocketPORT 540 enables image capture in two seconds, which is 10× faster than traditional scanning technologies, with the infrared, grayscale and color scanning modes. The scanner is compatible with 64 and 32 versions of Windows XP, Vista, and 7. The 540 uses the Twain 1.9 imaging standard, and includes no movable parts.

The 540 includes a camera based image capture system (CMOS) that offers the power and speed to the scanner. The flat surface of the 540 scanner enables effective capture of bulky registration or ID documents, and passports. The 540 offers one page scanning.

Document Capture’s CEO, David P. Clark stated that the DP540 is a result of the discussions with the company’s clients, VARs, and OEMs. He added that the 540 meets the requirements of their clients.
