NASA's Curiosity Rover Targets First Martian Destination

The Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover ChemCam team members have obtained the initial photos from the remote micro imager on the ChemCam instrument. The first 10 photos were successfully captured by ChemCam and this will allow the scientists to arrange the first test bursts of the system’s rock-zapping laser in the future.

NSF-Funded Radio Telescope Discovers Extraordinary Galaxy Cluster

An extraordinary galaxy cluster was discovered by the South Pole Telescope (SPT) located at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica. This telescope was funded by the National Science Foundation. The cluster, which was officially known as SPT-CLJ2344-4243, is called the Phoenix cluster since it is found in the Phoenix constellation.
