Carl Zeiss and Navitar Sign Licensing Agreement

Navitar, Inc., a global leader in optical technology, today announced a new licensing agreement with German optics manufacturer Carl Zeiss MicroImaging GmbH. Under the terms of the contract, Carl Zeiss will license Navitar’s Hoffman Modulation Contrast® (HMC®) trademark for use in their iHMC product line.

Dye Molecules in Gels Can Emit Circularly Polarized Light

Simple stirring can influence light, according to a report presented in the journal Angewandte Chemie by Kunihiko Okano and co-workers. Dye molecules locked in a gel send out “helical” (circularly polarized) light instead of “normal” light if the solution is stirred as it gels.
