Olmec Develops Multi-Camera, Multi-Illumination Inspection System to Check Foil Seal Integrity

Vision systems integrator. Olmec-UK, has developed a novel multi-camera, multi-illumination high speed inspection system to check the integrity of the foil seal on the plastic lids that are used to seal a wide range of glass and plastic containers in the food, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. These foil seals provide an air-tight seal to protect against contamination, humidity, tampering and leakages in order to maintain product freshness and increase shelf life. This type of lid and seal are used on a wide range of products from milk bottles to sauces such as ketchup, powdered drinks and tablet containers.

Oakland Park Animal Hospital Successfully Treats Patients with New Laser Therapy

Oakland Park Animal Hospital reports that their new veterinary cold laser therapy machine has successfully relieved pain in many of their patients. Veterinarians Dr. Spencer Ratnoff and Dr. Gary Glickman say that since installing the machine at their practice, they have noted significant improvements in patients suffering from arthritis, ear infections, post-surgical wounds, hot spots and a number of other skin conditions. During laser therapy, the doctors focus a beam of light deep into a pet's tissues. According to Drs. Ratnoff and Glickman, the cold laser stimulates healing deep inside a pet's body.
