Environmental Tests Completed for GOES-R Satellite’s Solar Ultraviolet Imager Instrument

A Lockheed Martin team has completed and passed the full range of environmental tests – electrical, mechanical and thermal – for the Solar Ultraviolet Imager (SUVI) instrument that will make crucial solar measurements when it flies on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) satellite mission, known as GOES-R.

Toshiba Unveils New Line of Low Input Current Type Transistor Output Photocouplers

Toshiba Corporation today announced the launch of a new line-up of low input current type transistor output photocouplers that guarantee high CTR (Current Transfer Ratio)1 at low input current. “TLP182” and “TLP183” will be available in SO6 packages and “TLP292” and “TLP293” in small SO4 packages. Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Captures First On-Sky Image with Sinistro Camera

Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope (LCOGT), with first lights at nine new 1-meter telescopes since April of 2012, achieved another critical milestone by capturing the first on-sky image with a production Sinistro camera.
