Mitsubishi Electric has announced the release of its 12.1'' wide-XGA color TFT-LCD module that is integrated with a white LED. The module is designed for use in industrial applications. The lightweight LCD module delivers high brightness of 700 cd/m2. The typical lifetime of its LED backlight is 80,000 hrs at 25¢ªC.
The LCD module does not require a high-voltage inverter for its operation. The module comprises a built-in LED driver, which provides a compact design to the module and reduces its production cost. The 12.1'' LCD module can operate in a temperature range of -30¡ÆC - 80¡ÆC, to enable applications in extreme outdoor environments.
The LCD module complies with the regulation of European Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS). The module is completely free from mercury. The mounting position and outline dimensions of the TFT-LCD module are the same as Mitsubishi¡¯s existing CCFL LCD module.
Mitsubishi Electric provides 18 different types of LCD modules that vary in resolutions and size. Out of the 18 models, 17 types feature LED backlights. To complete its line of LED backlight products, the company has planned to develop a 17'', LED backlit SXGA module soon.
