NXP Wins LFI 2010 Technical Innovation Award for SSL2102 Dimmable Lighting IC

NXP Semiconductors today announced it is the recipient of LIGHTFAIR International's (LFI) 2010 Technical Innovation Award for its SSL2102 dimmable IC.

Awarded for having the industry's most forward-thinking advancement in lighting technology, NXP is one of four companies recognized by LFI as a leader in innovative lighting product design and technology.

LFI announced all winners via press release on Tuesday.

Facts/Highlights:

  • LFI, the world's largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, announced the award yesterday at its LFI Innovation Awards ceremony.
  • Each year the LFI Innovation Awards showcase the latest lighting-related products and designs that demonstrate the best in innovative design and thinking. NXP was selected among the nearly 200 submitted products introduced over the past 12 months or launched at LFI2010.
  • The SSL2102 is a Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) controller IC designed to drive LED devices. It operates in combination with a phase cut dimmer directly from rectified mains, and includes a high-voltage power switch and a circuit to allow direct start-up from the rectified mains voltage. The SSL2102 also includes high-voltage circuitry to supply the phase cut dimmer.
  • The SSL2102 is part of a family of products that address a wide range of AC/DC LED drivers, including the latest generation SSL 2103 announced May 6th 2010.
  • NXP's Solid State Lighting and CFL solutions are on demonstration at LIGHTFAIR International 2010 at booth 2635 through Friday, May 14, 2010.
