National Semiconductor Corporation will showcase its latest power management technology at the Portable Design Conference and Exhibition in Santa Clara, California, from October 3-4. The Portable Design Conference is the only industry gathering of design engineers specifically engaged in the development and engineering of portable devices.
In Ballroom J of the Santa Clara Convention Center, National will demonstrate three new power products for LEDs along with its LP5520, the industry's first RGB LED driver for backlighting which provides better colors on the display and lower power consumption compared to white LEDs.
A third highlight at the show is National's Adaptive PowerWise(R) technology that enables intelligent energy management of the processor using adaptive voltage scaling (AVS). Using National's Adaptive PowerWise intellectual property integrated onto the processor along with compatible power management integrated circuits (ICs) such as National's new LP5552 reduces energy consumption up to 70 percent, extending the life of the battery.
