TSA Grants $4.9mn for Installation of Additional CCTV Systems at Philadelphia International Airport

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today announced approximately $4.9 million in funding for the installation of additional closed circuit television (CCTV) systems at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), which are designed to assist TSA's efforts to strengthen security at airports.

"In an airport environment, CCTV systems provide many benefits including improved security, better personnel deployment and assistance with the resolution of suspicious items," said PHL's Federal Security Director Robert Ellis. "The installation of these additional cameras, along with upgrades to our existing cameras, will be a tremendous asset to our security efforts."

The award, which comes from fiscal 2009 funds, will enhance the CCTV systems currently in place at PHL.
