Canon to Showcase Imaging Solutions at International Legal Technology Association Conference

Addressing the paper-intensive legal industry's need for document efficiency, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, will demonstrate a selection of its diverse input-to-output technologies and services at the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) Conference.

On display from August 20-22, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nev., at booth #304/306, Canon will showcase a selection of its hardware, software, integrated solutions, and professional services that in combination with knowledge about the legal industry can help law firms become more efficient, productive, manage costs and support the move to mobility and the cloud. Canon will be showcasing a selection of its portfolio of technology and service capabilities, which include:

Mobility & Cloud Solutions:

According to the 2012 ILTA survey, an increasing number of law firms are adopting mobile technology to perform their daily functions. Approximately 85 percent of law firms are fully funding the purchase of smartphones for partnering firm members, an increase of 35 percent over the 2011 survey number of 50 percent.1

Canon addresses this increased emphasis on mobile print technology through the imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform, which delivers easy, efficient workflow and connectivity to select mobile devices and cloud-based tools and solutions2. Canon also offers mobile connectivity through the free Canon Mobile Print application3, which allows legal professionals in corporate or small office environments to easily print case documents from their select mobile device to a compatible Canon printer. For firms looking for control over device usage and printed output, Canon's uniFLOW Mobile Printing application can integrate mobile device usage into a firm's overall output management solution, enabling the firm to enact control over who has rights to output to the devices, requiring user authentication for printing of documents.

Canon's space-saving imageFORMULA DR-C125 scanner will feature Capture Components, showing its ccScan™ advanced software for scanning and importing documents to select cloud-based CRM, content management and file sharing systems. Additionally, the P-208 Scan-tini scanner features a sleek, lightweight design ideal for portable use and its "Plug-and-Scan" capability allows users to scan without installing device drivers or software applications. When connected to Canon's WU10 Wireless Adapter & Battery Pack* the P-208 Scan-tini can work wirelessly, and can send files to select smartphones and tablets through the free Canon CaptureOnTouch Mobile app.

Document Processing, Information Management:

Canon offers solutions that can help law firms streamline case preparation, collaborate with their associates and integrate with some of the most commonly used document management systems. The imageFORMULA ScanFront 300P scanner is an outstanding solution for capturing document information in networked distributed environments, and can improve collaboration by allowing law firm and legal department users to share information from central or field locations.

Addressing law firms' need for more efficient ways to scan and send discovery documents to multiple recipients, the Therefore™4 information management solution can be integrated with Canon's imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunction devices, existing imageRUNNER models and imageFORMULA document scanners. Therefore™, which can be implemented as part of a complete end-to-end document management and workflow solution, gives employees the ability to capture, archive, retrieve, edit and process documents, helping legal professionals increase productivity and reduce document management costs.

Canon document distribution solutions like Therefore™ enable transformation of multistep manual discovery processes - such as sending documents to attorneys at the same law firm, opposing counsel, and clients, into custom one-touch buttons. Canon also offers integrated solutions for converting hard copy documents into electronic files for editing; enabling case files to be distributed via fax, email, or integrated into some of the most commonly used document management systems. Plus, indexing information can be included to integrate documents into a case management system.

Review for Legal Discovery:

Canon Business Process Services' CaseData® platform, a web-based document review platform for legal discovery, enables legal professionals to collaboratively produce, search and review documents for legal discovery and regulatory matters. They can classify documents for redaction or annotation as needed. They can also review, redact, search, collaborate, produce and conduct firm-wide analysis and markup. Additionally, legal teams can plan, calendar and exchange data, all from a single platform.

Canon Business Process Services' dataDeliver onsite managed eDiscovery services provide legal organizations with an electronic discovery solution deployed onsite as a managed service, which can help firms improve efficiency and client service.
