Formation Of PHOTONIS Technologies Digital Imaging Division Announced

PHOTONIS Technologies, a world leader in night vision sensor innovations, announced that the company has created a new business unit that will exclusively concentrate on the research, design, development and manufacture of digital low-light imaging technologies. The new division, to be known as PHOTONIS Digital Imaging, will be headquartered in Frisco, TX (USA).

 

 

PHOTONIS specializes in the design and manufacture of sensors and detectors used in the detection of ions, electrons and photons. It is the largest global supplier of night vision sensor technologies and mass spectrometer detectors. Over the past two years, the company has introduced a series of digital sensors and cameras to support low-light applications.

PHOTONIS President and CEO, Goossen Boers noted, “Over the past few years, we have seen increasing customer demand to create digitally-based products that provide portability, connectivity and superior low light images. Digital Imaging is opening new adjacent markets for PHOTONIS in areas such as security, surveillance, unmanned systems and situational awareness.” He added, “Our expertise within the low-light domain is unsurpassed and we are dedicated to creating new products that support both traditional optical and new digital applications.”

PHOTONIS Digital Imaging will be part of PHOTONIS USA, and managed under the direction of Mr. Gregory W. Bell, President and CEO of the US divisions. Mr. Bell stated, “The creation of a new, dedicated business unit allows us to draw on the expertise of the entire company and yet focus the product development in the new, digital marketplace with innovative applications and product offerings with the highest performing collection of low-light solutions.” He added that by being a resident company at the North Texas Enterprise Center facility in Frisco, Texas as an innovative, emerging technology accelerator, PHOTONIS Digital Imaging is already manufacturing and shipping digital low-light cameras. The company also recently announced a partnership to bring better connectivity options to its NOCTURN product line in response to customer demand.

PHOTONIS is a multinational high-technology group, with more than 40 years experience in manufacture, sales and innovation, specializing in photo sensor technology. The Group operates internationally in the Night Vision, Industrial, Scientific and Medical Imaging and Nuclear Instrumentation markets.
