Larson Electronics Introduces High Power LED Pedestal Light for Hazardous Locations

Larson Electronics has announced the introduction of a high power LED pedestal light designed for hazardous locations that provides output comparable to metal halide lamps in a cooler running and more durable package. Consisting of a powerful 150 watt LED lamp fitted to a heavy duty cast aluminum housing and a rugged aluminum pedestal base, the HAL-PM-1X150LED-100 Hazardous Location LED Light is an ideal portable lighting solution for operators in environments designated as Class 1 Division 2 hazardous.

The high output HAL-PM-1X150LED-100 LED hazardous area light from Larson Electronics produces 14,790 lumens of light and illuminated an area 18,000 square feet in size. Weather proof and marine use suitable, this LED equipped hazardous area fixture is mounted within an aluminum frame that provides simple setup and easy carry transport. The Larson Electronics HAL-PM-1X150LED-100 hazardous location LED light provides cool running and high output LED illumination in a compact and lightweight package that has been approved for hazardous location use. This compact unit features a 150 watt LED lamp housed within a cast aluminum closure mounted to an aluminum pedestal base with built in carry handle. The lamp housing is powder coated for durability and is equipped with a hinged access door with impact and heat resistant flat glass lens for easy access and servicing of the LED lamp assembly. The LED lamp is a 150 watt fixture producing 14,790 lumens of high quality light output in a wide flood pattern for good coverage of larger areas. The LED lamp in this pedestal light produces illumination comparable to a 400 watt metal halide lamp, yet uses less power, runs far cooler, and is much less sensitive to damage from impacts and vibration. The LEDs in this unit are Cree XLamp emitters and provide a 50,000 hour operational life with excellent lumen retention and high output. The explosion proof light assembly can also be adjusted vertically to help provide illumination precisely where it is needed. The pedestal base is designed for stability and light weight, with a triangular body with wide base constructed from heavy gauge aluminum that resists tipping. A built in carry handle provides easy handling, and 100 feet of included SOOW cord fitted with an explosion proof plug provides ample length for deployment and safe connections. This LED pedestal light is rated Class 1 Division 2 Groups C and D, and approved for wet areas and marine environments, making it ideal for use in offshore applications and industrial operations where space is limited and wet and corrosive environments are encountered. These explosion proof lights operate with universal 120-277 VAC current, allowing the use of standard voltages commonly found in industrial and commercial operations.

"The HAL-PM-1X150LED-100 Class 1 Division 2 rated portable LED light offers operators lightweight portability and durability," said Rob Bresnahan with LarsonELectronics.com. "We understand the environments that this light is used in, and this hazardous location LED light, like our popular explosion proof light version, can take a lot abuse. The triangular shape and low center of gravity limits the ability to knock the light over, but if operators do knock this light over, they can simply stand it up and keep working with no harm done."
