Complementing the European stalwarts, euroLED will also welcome two headline speakers from the burgeoning US LED lighting market; Bob Kottritsch from Lynk Labs and Mike Grather from Underwriters Laboratories (UL). UL is also the euroLED 2013 conference sponsor.
Michelle Cleaver, Birmingham Science Park Aston’s Events Manager and Head of euroLED said: “This is one of the largest LED lighting events in Europe, so for the 10th year, we were determined to secure the best speakers from across the globe. It will be a great privilege to listen to the insight and industry observations from Bob Kottritsch from Lynk Labs and Mike Grather from Underwriters Laboratories, who will be flying across the Atlantic to speak at euroLED.
“But, as a show with a long established reputation, it’s not just the speakers that will have a truly international flavour. Going by last year’s attendee statistics, we expect 3,000 visitors from over 30 countries to attend euroLED, which is being held at The ICC, Birmingham on 24th and 25th June 2013. The two-day event provides a first class opportunity for the industry to network, share ideas and forge new business relationships.”
euroLED 2013 will have a focus on components, such as drivers, PCBs, optics and heat sinks, as well as testing competences and LED lighting products for the medical and industrial sectors. The technical conference will also explore the themes of LED systems, engines and modules, thermal management, testing and standardisation.
Representing the UK, additional speakers at the euroLED conference will comprise Dr Caerwyn Ash from the Dezac Group Ltd, Nick Wainwright from York EMC, Gareth Jones from LUX-TSI, and Jamie Fox from IMS Research.
As a complement to the conference, the euroLED exhibition will have over 100 stands, showcasing the biggest brands in LED lighting, alongside innovative newcomers to the market. Taking place on the first evening of the event, the gala dinner will provide a further networking opportunity.
The conference advisory board includes representatives from LUX-TSI, Toshiba, Osram, Thorn Lighting, Bridgelux, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Meanwell. euroLED’s media sponsor is A1 Lighting magazine.
Michelle Cleaver added: “While continental Europe is currently leading the way in LED innovation, there is also unprecedented growth in the UK’s LED lighting sector. To bring together representatives from the regional and national LED industry, we will be holding our next euroLED kicker event on 26th March at Birmingham Science Park Aston, which will focus on lighting design for the outdoor, retail, health and office markets. This whole day event will also enable delegates to pay a visit to the Science Park’s acclaimed Optical Performance Centre, which is working with some of the biggest names in LED on research, testing and accreditation, as well as supporting highly innovative start-up businesses.”
