Appointments Announced at Navitar and Special Optics

Navitar, a leading manufacturer of precision optics and imaging system components, is pleased to announce it has named David Manzi as Chief Technology Officer, Steven Morales as General Manager of Special Optics, and Thomas Young as Controller of Special Optics.

David Manzi, formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of Special Optics, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer of Navitar and Special Optics. In this newly created position, he is responsible for managing the development of new products, directing corporate business strategy, and identifying new market focus areas. With over two decades of experience at Special Optics, Mr. Manzi is uniquely poised to direct the division’s technical growth and OEM optics. Mr. Manzi holds a bachelor of science in physics from the Pennsylvania State University.

Steven Morales, who has worked for Navitar’s Special Optics division for over 14 years, has been promoted from Sales Manager to General Manager. His new role involves overseeing all administrative functions of the company, including leading and directing employees and ensuring efficient and proper implementation of policies and procedures. Mr. Morales holds a degree in Applied Information Technology from Pace University, and is currently pursuing further education in engineering science and computer science.

"Steven is ideal for the role of General Manager, based on his vast experience with customers and the key part he played in guiding the company through the acquisition by Navitar," says David Manzi, Chief Technology Officer of Navitar and Special Optics. In addition, Tom Young has joined Special Optics as Controller. Mr. Young replaces Matthew Thomas, who retired in July. He comes to Special Optics with over 20 years of diversified accounting experience in manufacturing, business services, construction, advertising and non-profit healthcare. Mr. Young holds a bachelor of arts in accounting from William Paterson University, and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

"We’re very excited to have David and Steven in their new roles, and feel Tom will be a great asset to the company," comments Thomas McCune, Navitar’s Chief Operating Officer. "Special Optics is a vital part of Navitar, and all three men will contribute to the division’s growth and development."

David Manzi, Steven Morales and Thomas Young are all based in the division’s Wharton, New Jersey office.
