Department of Defense Certifies Zephyr Photonics as a Trusted Supplier

Zephyr Photonics today announced that it has received accreditation as a Category 1A Trusted Source by the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA).

The accreditation recognizes the company as a trusted supplier of foundry microelectronics goods and services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and other end users within the United States Government. Receiving trusted supplier status assures the DoD and prospective defense customers that Zephyr Photonics solutions meet the highest standards of control and security. The Category 1A certfication is the highest designation awarded by the DoD.

"The government’s Trusted Foundry Program was started to help support the DOD’s growing need for trusted manufacturing partners that can produce reliable and secure solutions for global programs and operations," said Tom Steding, president and CEO of Zephyr Photonics. "Receiving this accreditation is a major victory for our company as we continue to develop and introduce new products to the market. We have served the defense community for more than 25 years, and we arehonored to be one of the few companies to have received the Trusted Accreditation. This is truly a validation of our efforts and a true compliment to the Zephyr Photonics’ team."

Zephyr Photonics has independently developed products critical to national defense utilizing distinctive optoelectronic technology - available nowhere else in the industry - with a distinctive capability to operate in very harsh environments. In addition to being a trusted DoD foundry, Zephyr Photonics is also an ITAR-compliant, vertically integrated, ISO9001 supplier and has sixsigma certifications in both its component and module divisions.
