STEMMER IMAGING declared that the LMI Technologies’ next generation Gocator 3D smart cameras have been incorporated with several unique features to demonstrate an excellent performance in machine vision applications.
This novel product performs a majority of applications with whole part measurement that includes a number of triggering enhancements, 2D surface inspection, volumetric measurements, and Modbus TCP support, thus simplifying factory automation procedures.
Gocator’s individual parts have been divided into 3D cloud datasets. It provides information regarding orientation, location, and dimensions and therefore has ideal application in volumetric measurements. The integrated Software Development Kit facilitates the operation of overall 3D displays with pseudo color visualization and off-line analysis. Furthermore, Gocator also performs 2D image detection.
Gocator sensors, through Ethernet communication over Modbus TCP protocol, perform plug in function within the factory floor. Gocators equipped with PLC can be integrated with existing factory automation systems.
The multi-language communication indicates the incidence of any data loss resulting from incorrect set-up of the camera, thereby facilitating consistent operation. In addition, a variety of encoder tracking and gated triggering methods are supported by Gocator. The camera demonstrates a versatile operation when using a conveyor with encoder or when integrated with robotic arm. With bi-directional encoder triggering, Gocator can scan an object while it is under motion in a conveyor and thus cuts down the production time. Gated Triggering in Gocator enables it to trigger a scan sequence following its integration into systems based on a PLC or photocell.
