Petra Solar Introduces Intelligent Solution for Street Light Energy Management

Petra Solar has launched a smart street lighting energy management solution, IllumiWave. IllumiWave is extremely useful for municipalities in conserving the energy used for street lighting and hence save on the cost.

The IllumiWave is a smart grid capable of establishing two-way communications by remotely controlling and manage the streetlights centrally. The operators are able to control the street lights from a remote location or dim them at predetermined times for saving energy. For communicating data pertaining to energy consumption or issuing alerts for bulb outages, etc Petra Solar has used their web-based communication system called IntelliView. This intelligent energy management system can be used by organisations for establishing load control and disaster response programs. Bulb outages are communicated via alerts and organisations are therefore able to deal with such failures proactively before their customers are affected by the outage. IllumiWave can be integrated with dawn dusk sensors or it can work independently by replacing the conventional sensors with IllumiWave devices. The communication network established by IllumiWave can be made to work along with the SunWave pole mounted solar systems from Petra. This combination can be made to generate revenue by tapping the solar power. The CEO of Petra pointed out that the IllumiWave not only provides cost-savings to their customers but also benefits the environment.
