MTS, a division of MTS Allstream and a communication solutions company, is bringing the next generation fibre-to-the-home network (FiON) to Dauphin.
The MTS Ultimate TV service is presently available in Brandon, Selkirk, Portage La Prairie and Winnipeg. Through the FiON network, MTS aims to provide the Ultimate TV service to an additional 120,000 households near to 20 Manitoba communities. MTS intends to complete the coverage within the next five years and will invest $125 million.
MTS Ultimate TV service delivers over 56 HD channels and Whole Home PVR service that enables recording and playback of TV programs. The deployment of the FiON will enable Dauphin residents to access advanced consumer telecommunications services, including the MTS Ultimate TV and Internet products that have speeds up to 25 Mbps and possible speeds of more than 100 Mbps in the future.
