Precision Glass + Optics Launches Optical Filters for Avionics Displays

Precision Glass & Optics (PG&O), an optical manufacturing company, has designed and developed custom optical filters for an LED display manufacturer, PRP Optoelectronics. PG&O is offering narrow-cone-angle optical filters for custom avionics displays.

Precision Glass & Optics Offers Custom Coatings for Avionic Displays

PG&O’s thin film filters are incorporated into PRP’s avionics displays to change the viewing angle. In addition, the thin film filters remove unnecessary stray light that causes distraction to cockpit crew and pilots. The angle requirements and operational wavelengths of the optical coatings are modified for sensitivity to nighttime lighting. The technology solves the issues associated with commercial and military cockpit lighting/display applications.

PG&O offers thin film coatings and optical components for challenging applications. In addition, the company provides advanced glass fabrication equipment for assembly, CNC, engraving, scribing, machining, polishing, grinding and assembly.
