Irving Independent School District has selected GridPoint to install and design a 582 kW solar panel system on the rooftop of the Lady Bird Johnson Middle School, in Texas.
Solyndra CIGS panels used at two U.S. rooftop solar installations
The new middle, is the largest school in the US with net zero-energy, and utilizes solar panels from Solyndra.
Solar installations in two different states in the US have selected the CIGS solar panels from Solyndra for the rooftop solar power solutions. In addition, United Renewable Energy has utilized the CIGS thin-film panels from Solyndra on a 95.2 kW rooftop solar installation on the plastic bottle recycling plant at Marglen Industries in Georgia. According to the companies, the installation is the largest in the Southeast to use the cylindrical thin-film solar energy solution from Solyndra with 476 installed solar modules.
