Moser Baer India Begins Operation of Solar Module Equipment Plant

Manufacturer of solar cells, Moser Baer India has begun the operation of a plant that manufactures components for photovoltaic modules in Noida.

The facility will manufacture 2.5 million junction boxes annually using Japan-based Yukita Electric Wire’s technology.

Junction boxes aid in channeling the power created by solar cells and transfer it to the batteries and inverters. The solar plant is capable of supplying the initial 1,300 MW of solar power that India is aiming by 2013, as part of its Solar Mission program.

Yukita Electric Wire’s Director and Vice President, Saburo Yukita stated that the facility will serve as an export base to distribute junction boxes to overseas and European markets.
