Lincoln Electric Automation to Conduct Seminar on Laser Welding and Cutting Technology

Lincoln Electric Automation will conduct a one-day seminar on laser welding and cutting technology at the Automation Center of Excellence, on 24 March 2011.

The seminar will feature a short overview about the history of lasers, practical demonstrations of the laser technology and an introduction about the advantages of laser material processing.

The technology seminar is intended for those organizations that are seeking minimal per-part cost from automated processes, reduced heat input and increased productivity. In addition, CEOs, product managers, manufacturing engineers, designers and welding engineers will benefit from the seminar.

Other topics in the session include details about how a company can evaluate the laser’s suitability for its present or future production requirements; the economics of the technology; utilization of lasers by various industries; and a short review on the hybrid process and the history of lasers.

The session will feature guest speakers from HIGHYAG Lasertechnologie, Division of Alabama Laser Specialty Products, Alabama Laser, IPG Photonics and FANUC Robotics America.
